Day 3MadridMADRID SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME: Madrid's long rich history is evident everywhere you look during your sightseeing tour with your expert Local Guide. The city's golden age in the 16th and 17th centuries produced many fine buildings and attracted artists from all over Europe. Drive along leafy avenues and see the statue of Cervantes' fictional hero, Don Quixote, in the Plaza de Espana. Admire the Cibeles Fountain and the Parliament. Cross the magnificent Puerta del Sol. View the Royal Palace, the largest in Western Europe with more than 2,800 rooms. Once the official residence of King Juan Carlos, it is now used only on state occasions. Day 8LisbonSEVILLE - LISBON (2 NIGHTS): Journey via the 'Jabugo' (ham centre) of Spain, through beautiful landscape featuring mighty castles and rugged terrain. Cross the border into Portugal's Alentejo province, a region of vast open countryside with undulating plains and rich fertile soil. The area is reliant mainly on agriculture and the region produces several types of cheeses, wines, smoked hams and sausages, as well as cork. The capital, Lisbon, is renowned for tiny patio restaurants known as fadistas, where you can dine on local while listening to the sounds of haunting fado melodies. (Buffet Breakfast)
